Snowshoe's Environmental Policy
Snowshoe Mountain, in keeping with our theme and surroundings of 'Forever Wild,' strives to achieve a balance with our natural surroundings. The health of our mountain environment is vital to Snowshoe's employees, guests and community; therefore, Snowshoe Mountain is committed to an environmental program that adheres to: maintaining or exceeding regulatory compliance, pollution prevention and continual improvement. As a team, we will utilize these principles in setting and reviewing company, divisional and departmental goals and objectives. Our policy will be communicated to all employees and made available to the public. Adherence to our policy is a basic job duty of every employee.
It is with this commitment and dedication that gives us great pride to announce our Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP), the first ever completed in the state of West Virginia. In partnership with the United States Fish and Wildlife Services, our HCP helps protect the two endangered species found on our resort land - the West Virginia Northern Flying Squirrel and the threatened Cheat Mountain Salamander. While vacationing at Snowshoe Mountain, we ask that you also respect our mountain environment and be mindful that actions you take may impact our fragile mountain environment.
