Elk River Touring Center offers Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe rentals and lessons at the base of the mountain (approximately 20 minutes from the top of Snowshoe Mountain). Their expansive trail system offers something for beginners and experts alike. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are dependent upon natural snowfall.
